Boiler Water Treatment Chemical Guidelines–Part 1

The choice of boiler water treatment depends upon two main considerations: (1) boiler operating pressure and (2) boiler feedwater hardness. As the pressure increases, greater care in control of treat- ment, cycles, etc., is required. Also, since boiler operation is much more critical at higher pressures, less hardness and total dissolved solids can be tolerated. Generally, less use of combined (or multifunctional) treatments occurs at higher pressures.
