Water is the most studied material on Earth, but it is remarkable to find that its behavior and function is so poorly understood or at times even ignored, not only by people in general, but also by scientists working with it everyday.
Oceans make up 97% of the world’s supply of water. Desalination using seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) membrane technology has become a viable option for the development of new regional water supplies.
Desalination is a separation process used to reduce the dissolved salt content of saline water to a usable level. All desalination processes involve three liquid streams: the saline feedwater (brackish water or seawater), low-salinity product water, and very saline concentrate (brine or reject water).
