The question of how safe plastic food containers and bottles are has been a long standing one. It has been previously claimed that plastic bottled water containers stored in warm environments can cause serious health problems. However, recent research has proved otherwise.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which regulates the safety of foods and beverages, has stated that it does not consider bottled water stored in elevated temperatures to be a safety concern. The FDA has found that the levels of migration, due to the use of the plastics in contact with food, are well within the margin of safety based on information available.
