Editorial

Among the latest industry product launches, BASF has introduced its arsenic removal medium for water systems, while Mueller has launched a standard hydrant with a check valve built into the shoe.

GE Water & Process Technologies has agreed to a USD 20 million deal to supply mobile water treatment equipment to the Saudi Arabia-based Al Tamimi Group.

Depleting supplies, unequal distribution and access, and the inevitable specter of rising costs – all these factors are common to both the oil and water crises that the world is facing today. Ironically, our unrestrained use of oil fuels the crisis in water.

Don’t miss the next issue of Water IDeaS.

Featured White Paper
Title Nitrification vs. Denitrification
Author Stantec
Company Stantec
Synopsis
The purpose of this paper is to present the results of a side-by-side nitrification versus denitrification trial at the Elmira WWTP with the view of quantifying differences in effluent quality, biological aeration demand, and effluent alkalinity between the nitrifying and denitrifying bioreactors. It is expected that the results from this trial should demonstrate significant operational benefits to be achieved by denitrifying and will encourage other municipalities to consider denitrification in addition to nitrification on its own.
