Editorial

Concerns over the deteriorating quality of potable water in Southeast Asia, has proved to be a boon for the markets dealing in residential water treatment equipment.

Escalating healthcare costs and a growing awareness of the harmful by-products of water treatment in municipal plants are seen as the major factors encouraging people to opt for the installation of water treatment systems at home.

However, the residential water treatment equipment market in Southeast Asia faces stiff competition from the bottled water market, since bottled water has the advantage of convenience, safety, and health benefits.
