Data Loggers and Acquisition Instruments
DOT Logger
The Data Online Telemetry (DOT) Logger is a flexible, compact, inexpensive, easy to use data-logging instrument specifically designed for intensive environmental monitoring applications. Telemetry options such as phone, radio or satellite communications are easily integrated with the DOT.
AxSys MPU Data Acquisition Instrument
The AxSys is a data acquisition instrument used by organizations responsible for water resource management and control. The AxSys complete design includes programmable keypad, display and data card interface all in a compact NEMA 4 enclosure.
AxSys Flowmeter Data Acquisition Instrument
The AxSys Flowmeter is a data acquisition instrument used by organizations responsible for water resource management and control. The AxSys Flowmeter features a programmed rating table to automatically calculated and report on water flow.
AxSys CCR (4-20mA input) Circular Chart Recorder (CCR)
The AxSys Circular Chart Recorder (CCR) is designed to collect data on multiple parameters and to chart any one of those parameters of interest for a quick visual measurement on paper. Typically, the CCR is used as a flowmeter that is programmed to provide instantaneous flow rate value. The CCR is physically designed for an easy Stevens 61R mechanical flowmeter retrofit.
Telemetry & Wireless Data Communications
Data telemetry can simplify and speed the acquisition of critical information from remote locations. Stevens has been a pioneer in telemetry applications for environmental data collection since its development of the first remote environmental monitoring telemetry system, Telmark.
Satellite
Bouncing an RF signal off a satellite is one of the best options for remote installations, especially in locations where no other reliable RF or telephone coverage is available. Satellite is also recommended when infrastructure cost (such as the need to use repeaters for a non-satellite system) is an issue. There are two main types of satellite systems that offer remote environmental monitoring type applications: Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) and Geosynchronous Orbit (GEO).
HDR Transmitters
The Stevens GOES HDR (high data rate) Transmitter (Model GHT) provides access to the NOAA/NESDIS GOES Data Collection System (DCS) for Stevens or third party data loggers and sensors deployed in environmental monitoring and data acquisition applications. The Stevens GOES HDR is easy to program and operates as an ASCII modem for use with most data loggers capable of exporting data packets through their serial port.
ORBCOMM Low Earth Orbiting (LEO) Satellite Data Communication System
ORBCOMM is a low earth orbiting (LEO) satellite data communication system that is two-way and provides worldwide coverage. The ORBCOMM Satellite Transceiver (two-way) is easy to install at a relative low cost and minimal maintenance requirements. Stevens is ORBCOMM's VAR (Value Added Reseller) for environmental data transmission. Data interaction is via e-mail or using E-Monitoring Internet Data Management.
Radio
Radio telemetry is one method of transmitting data. Licensed and unlicensed radio telemetry may require line-of-site between the monitoring system and the base station. Antenna positioning, gain, tuning, ambient frequency, noise, atmospheric conditions and terrain are important variables affecting range -- however, transmissions can be repeated if interference is present. UHF or VHF Radio
TS4000 incorporates a wide range of high performance radio modules, which meet the stringent demands of both domestic and international regulatory agencies. Advanced features include address selective store-and-forward data repeating, multilevel packet management, and remote system adjustment and network wide diagnostics.
Bluetooth®
The Shark is an efficient and economical solution in converting your data logger or industrial equipment into a Bluetooth® enable communication instrument.
The Shark is Stevens' RS232 or RS485 wireless serial cable replacement product designed using Bluetooth® wireless technology for industrial and the environmental monitoring applications. Its robust design will handle many extreme environmental conditions and power management concerns. It uses the Bluetooth® SPP (serial port profile) protocol to replace RS232 or RS485 cables. The Shark will communicate with another Shark or with any Bluetooth® enabled device.
Telephone
A telephone telemetry connection is established between the two parties and the data is passed. While utilization of the wired Public Switch Telephone Network (PSTN) is a well establish and reliable telemetry solution, the technology and coverage of cellular data telemetry systems has greatly improved and rapidly gaining as an alternative to telephone or other telemetry solutions.
Cell Phone Modems
The CDSB-6/Moto's microcomputer controls the cellular transceiver and modem as one device. The intelligent power management system includes a 3-watt Motorola cellular radio and allows the user to remotely program all of the modem options, functions and power management. The modem performs well with situations common to cellular systems such as hand-off, distortion, and varying signal conditions.
Low Power Phone Modems
Low-powered Environmental Phone Modem 2400 bit is a land-line phone modem designed to operate in extreme environmental conditions from -40 C to 85 C. Includes auto-dial and auto answering, "AT" command set, and IEEE 472 surge protection.
Basic Phone Modems
The VX1040 is designed for installations in a rack mount configuration or as a stand-alone unit.
Satellite Antennas
V4TH Antenna
The Stevens V4TH and V2TH Satellite Antenna provides a cost effective, high performance geostationary satellite data telemetry link for hydrological and meteorological data transmissions. The helix design virtually eliminates all existing problems that occur with other available antenna technology.
V2TH Antennas
The Stevens V4TH and V2TH Satellite Antenna provides a cost effective, high performance geostationary satellite data telemetry link for hydrological and meteorological data transmissions. The helix design virtually eliminates all existing problems that occur with other available antenna technology.
The V4TH and V2TH Antennas have a 10 dB gain and 5.5 dB gain, respectively. These antennas are designed to operate through the destructive forces of severe weather.
