Vortisand Filtration System is extremely effective for the removal of suspended solids down to 0.45 micron, widely used in pre Reverse Osmosis and water reuse applications such as wastewater and rainwater polishing or water reuse applications.

The Vortisand high-efficiency water filtration system is used for the removal of suspended solids down to sub-micron range, are easily installed and fully automatic. The very compact filters ensure a filtration that is 10 to 20 times finer than traditional sand filters.

WATER REUSE APPLICATIONS
Process Water:
With their unit concept that combines centrifugal separation and sand filtration, the Vortisand filters ensure greater filtration than traditional sand filters and are widely used for various industrial water polishing processes:

Reverse Osmosis membrane systems usually require a turbidity of <1 NTU and SDI < 5. This means that the objective of the pre filtration should be to reduce the TSS to a level that would be < 0.5 ppm or better. There are very few options to consider here for the prefiltration of the raw water.

Drinking Water:
With their unit concept that combines centrifugal separation and sand filtration, the Vortisand filters ensure a greater filtration than traditional sand filters and are used for well water (for removal of iron and manganese), surface and city water polishing applications. Vortisand operates either on an intermittent or a continuous filtration flow basis depending on the application needs.
Skid Mounted Potable Water Treatment System:
Vortisand filters were used as part of a potable water treatment package for peacekeeping troops in Eastern Europe. Each portable water purification system treats 100 gpm of well water including a chemical feed operation, a Vortisand sand filter is used to remove 2 microns size oxidized/precipitated iron particles and an activated carbon filter followed by a chemical disinfection process.
Packaged Potable Water System:
Bypass header allows total bypass of either filter during service with continued operation for 100% uptime (minus backwash).
