Water professionals will learn how to optimize PVC pipe during the American Water Works Association's (AWWA) webcast "Maximize the Performance of Your PVC Pipes" taking place at 1 p.m. EDT, Sept. 17.

PVC pipe is becoming a popular choice for new and replacement water distribution and transmission pipelines. Utility staff, engineering professionals, contractors and service providers will gain knowledge of maintenance and installation procedures including handling, locating, restraining methods and options, and tapping recommendations and equipment. The webcast also will feature a case study from an Edmonton, Alberta, utility, and independent evaluations of PVC pipe performance will be reviewed to determine appropriate uses.

Webcast presenters will include:

Bob Walker, P.E., Executive Director for Dallas-based Uni-Bell PVC Pipe Association, who also has been involved in environmental protection and stewardship for 35 years.
Doug Seargeant, P.E., Director of Water Distribution Construction and Maintenance with EPCOR Water Services Inc. in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

For more information on the webcast and registration details, go to http://www.awwa.org/education/webcasts.
