Activated Carbon Systems, Filtration Equipment and Filter Media for Various Industrial Applications

Prominent Systems, Inc. is a corporation that specialized in the complete range of activated carbon. We produce and sell a wide variety of activated carbons for all kinds of applications. Our manufacturing plants are located in Indonesia, Vietnam, and China. Our products lines include coconut shell, bituminous coal base, wood base, and lignite base activated carbon.

We carry a large inventory of carbon for the treatment of both liquid and vapor phase. We have many different types of carbon available for immediate shipment, including pelletized, granular, and powdered , made out of several different materials such as coconut shell, coal, wood, and Lignite.

To add more service value to our customer, we also carry a complete line of carbon adsorption equipment. Vessels, canisters and panels of all sizes are available for the purification of vapor and liquid phase filtration. In addition to providing of equipments, we also have the capability to do service carbon systems on site (turnkey filter media change out service) includes the removal, replacement, and disposal of the spent carbon.

Prominent Systems, Inc has more than sixteen years experience in the activated carbon industries with strong ties with some of the biggest name in the industry. We consider the quality of our products as our life. We have in place quality monitoring systems to maintain our high standard of quality. Our quality systems are capable to provide our customer with uniform products and reliable data for product analysis. All of this measure translates in lower cost in material and labors management.

SERVICES

Prominent Systems, Inc. offers a wide variety of activated carbon products for a large range of environmental remediation applications. Prominent Systems, Inc. goes beyond just selling activated carbon and vessels but also offers environmental remediation services to better help our customers.

Many environmental remediation applications require the removal of suspended solids from the contaminated water. Contaminated water can come from a variety of sources both industrial as well as organic and may include: storm water run-off, groundwater, manufacturing processes, pond clean up, excavation and de-watering projects. Each of these situations involves water being released to the environment which may contain VOCs or contaminates and without treatment may cause environmental damage or contamination. Activated carbon filtration is an effective method of dealing with suspended solids, oils and VOcs within contaminated water.

An absorbers or vessel filled with granular activated carbon can filter the water, separate solids and waste and remove contaminates thereby releasing safe remediate water back into the environment.

Prominent Systems, Inc. provides custom solutions to purification and environmental problems utilizing a wide range of activated carbon products and services, with a commitment to total customer satisfaction.

Onsite turnkey filter media change out

Prominent Systems, Inc. Offers onsite full turnkey filter media change out to our customers. Prominent Systems, Inc. will remove the spent carbon and provide transportation and proper disposal of the spent media whether it is hazardous or non-hazardous. We will inspect the vessel and make any proper adjustment to the vessel prior refilling with fresh ac.

Vessel or canister exchange

Some customers prefer to not have any process media removed and replaced on their site. Prominent Systems, Inc.'s offsite process media removal and absorber exchange can arrange to have the vessel, containing the spent media, moved offsite to one of our service centers.

The absorber vessel is emptied, inspected and refilled with fresh activated carbon or with the appropriate process media and then returned to the customer. The spent process media is then properly disposed or reactivated.

Off Site process media removal and vessel absorber exchange can be utilized using Prominent Systems' or customer-owned vessels.

Laboratory services

Prominent Systems, Inc. operates a full-service laboratory capable of performing a variety of ASTM and AWWA test procedures for determining adsorbent quality. In addition to the standard procedures, Prominent Systems, Inc. has also developed a number of custom test procedures for determining a media's effectiveness in specific customer applications or its suitability for use in alternate processes.

Spent carbon disposal

Prominent Systems, Inc. is firmly committed to the highest standards for the safe and lawful operation of our facilities and the protection of the environment, our employees, our customers, and the citizens of the communities in which we do business. Prominent Systems, Inc. operates in full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and continually strives to meet or exceed all regulatory requirements

Rental of environmental remediation equipment

Some environmental remediation treatment needs are temporary, and Prominent Systems, Inc. has designed an environmental remediation services including equipment rental program to perfectly fit those needs. Remediation equipment rentals are ideal for short-duration projects, where capital investment in equipment is not possible or desirable, or when flexibility is a priority.

Coconut Shell Activated Carbon like its names comes from the coconut shell that has been undergone steam activation process to create its activated carbon form. During activation, it creates millions of pores at the surface of the carbon thus increasing the total surface area. Coconut shell carbon has mainly micro-pores to meso-pores and due to its unique distribution of pores diameter, coconut shell activated carbon are very popular in the gas phase purification and potable water purification industries.

Coal Based Activated Carbon originates from coal that has undergone steam activation process to create its activated carbon form. During activation, it creates millions of pores at the surface of the carbon thus increasing the total surface area. Coal based carbon has mainly meso-pores and macro-pores and due to its unique distribution of pores diameter, coal based activated carbon are very popular in the gas phase purification, potable water purification industries, wastewater purification industries and aquarium/pond water purification industries.

  • Gravel Filter Media
  • Sand Filter Media
  • Garnet Filter Media

Anthracite Filter Media

Excellent filtration medium for gravity and pressure filters, for treatment of hard and soft water, sewage, oil and acid/alkali liquids.

The hardness of carbocite ensures minimum wastage by attrition in service. It contains 80% of pure carbon. The irregular shape of the particles offers a larger surface area per unit of volume and larger spaces between particles which enable high filtration rates with low head losses to be obtained. The greater surface area of carbocite promotes the efficient removal of algae, turbidity and bacteria.

The advantages of using anthracite become expressed as follows:

  • Faster filtration
  • Longer filter runs
  • Low loss of head
  • Economic use of space
  • Easy to handle
  • Savings in wash water
  • Big capital savings
  • Long life

Gravel Filter Media

To insure a clean, quality product, filter gravels are double scrubbed to remove all clay, shale and inorganic impurities. High purity, consistent quality gravel makes this media ideal for filtration.

The advantages of using gravel filtration become expressed as follows:

  • Wide variety of grades available (1 1/2“ to 3/16”)
  • Full service lab continually monitors product
  • Extremely pure silica content (>99%)
  • Private labeling available on request
  • Variety of packaging offered
  • All filtration gravel meets AWWA B100 Specifications
  • NSF certified for standard 61

Sand Filter Media

Prominent Systems' sand filter media is composed of sub-angular, hard, durable, and dense grains of predominately siliceous material. Extracted from a clean glacial sand deposit, our sand media physical properties make it among the finest available in the world for filtration applications. The sand media is washed, kiln dried, and screened to meet exacting specifications with strict adherence to quality control.

Garnet Filter Media

Prominent Systems' garnet is a chemically inert non-metallic mineral commonly found in the natural environment. Garnet has a high specific gravity. Its chemical, hardness, and durability properties makes garnet an ideal filter media and abrasive media.
