Itron Mobile Collector Service policy is based on the aforementioned themes. We are confident that our policy provides the best service value available in the market today. Itron strives to ensure that the product will provide the value utilities have based their business case on, as well as the historical reliability of Itron products.
To ensure that the Mobile Collection System is operating at peak performance, Itron offers 24 hour on-call support through customer care. Log files are part of the system design that allow customer care to trouble shoot some questions by telephone. When a Mobile Collection System does need repair, it is designed to be repaired by a service depot rather than in the field. This saves the customer time, in addition to the expense of sending someone from Itron on-site to repair the equipment. If a vehicle becomes inoperable, the flexibility and portability of the Mobile Collection System allows the unit to be moved easily to another vehicle. Our loaner policy was created to minimize the impact of product repairs to our customer’s daily operations. Itron will ship a loaner unit, based on availability, to a customer location prior to the customer returning their drive-by hardware for repair or upgrade.
