Proper Water Evaluation is Critical to Design Engineering
Arsenic is a naturally occurring heavy-metal contaminant. Levels of water-soluble arsenic, (As-III) and (As-V) can vary widely due to a broad range of factors impacting both surface water and ground water. Arsenic appears in source water by dissolving out of sedimentary and volcanic rock, leaching from waste chemical disposal, and rain runoff collecting in aquifers.
Depending on arsenic levels in your area's source water, regular site sampling and monitoring may be required by the Federal or State Regulators. Effective arsenic removal is dependent upon several factors, including system parameters and water chemistry.
At a minimum, water quality testing should include: pH, hardness, sulfate, phosphate, silica, nitrate, iron, manganese, vanadium, turbidity and total dissolved solids (TDS).
