Filtration Systems – Reverse Osmosis
Diaco is proud to offer a variety of water filtration systems that are customized to fit your particular needs: Reverse Osmosis Mineral Tank System Ozone Filter System Carbon Filter System Electrodeionization (EDI) REVERSE OSMOSIS Reverse Osmosis is a membrane separation process wherein purified water is extracted by using synthetic membranes which are permeable to water molecules but relatively non-permeable to contaminants. The raw water stream is first pressurized to reverse the natural osmosis process that occurs across the semi-permeable membranes. The ROS-100 System is a reverse osmosis module designed for large industrial applications. Each ROS module utilizes 8 inch diameter spiral wound membranes, housed in fiberglass vessels producing a capacity of 100 G.P.M. The modular design allows for easy expansion. The ROS-100 is a free standing system designed and engineered for ease of maintenance and operation. Solid state controls provide continuous monitoring of all critical parameters in addition the system will automatically stop the system when conditions are not within preset limits, i.e. low suction pressure, high product conductivity. Instrumentation includes liquid-filled pressure gauges; product and concentrate flow meters; and a conductivity meter to measure product water quality. PUMP PACKAGES Pumps are selected according to the number of ROS-100 modules. The pumps are stainless steel centrifugal type with integral 3- phase, 60hz or 50hz, (optional) TEFC (totally enclosed fan cooled optional) motors. STANDARD FEATURES: Flow Rates of 100 gpm Product and Concentrate Flowmeters Solid State Controller PLC (AB) controller Low Suction Pressure Switch and Shutoff High Pressure Speed Switch and Shutoff Liquid-Filled Pressure Gauges for the Pumps, Discharge, Membrane, Secondary Feed, Permeate and Concentrate Pressure Gauges. Carbon Filter Systems
Daico's carbon filters offer a cost-effective method for chlorine and organics removal from various feedwater sources. They are designed for light industrial filtration applications where a stainless steel pressure vessel and individual butterfly valves are beneficial. These units have a front-mounted control unit for ease of service and backwash of the units is controlled by a brass pilot stager. The stager directs hydraulic or pneumatic pressure to open or close the diaphragm valves. The stager is controlled by an adjustable backwash cycle timer. The diaphragm valve nest piping assembly contains a self-adjusting backwash flow control. Backwash is initiated on either time or differential pressure.
Electrodeionization Process
Daico Electrodeionization (EDI) is the answer in demanding applications that require consistent and economical removal of water impurities without the use of hazardous chemicals. EDI is a continuous process for producing high-purity water using ion-exchange membranes, resins and electricity. Direct current (DC) is the driving force for removing ionized and ionizable species from the feed stream, while continuously regenerating the resin pack. Basically, EDI is an electrodialysis (ED) process modified by the addition of ion-exchange resin. EDI, in combination with reverse osmosis as pretreatment, strips away more than 99.9% of feedwater ions, significantly outperforming both double-pass RO and straight DI. With lower chemical, energy and labor costs, Daico's state-of-the-art EDI technology is helping meet industry’s ultrapure water needs today and well into the 21st century.
