Our innovative approach of using biofilters as passive treatment systems allows us to provide inexpensive odor control for remote locations, without electricity or water supply, or for sites with a restricted footprint.
We use a proprietary organic Biomedia that provides the substrate for odor-degrading microorganisms. Since the microorganisms oxidize and remove the odorous compounds, the media constantly regenerates itself and will last anywhere between 3 and 7 years. The spent media is not hazardous and can be easily replaced.
Bioteg’s Passive Biofilters for the Collection System
Bioteg’s Passive Biofilters are designed for ultra-low maintenance, low operating costs and easy installation. They are an ideal and inexpensive solution to treat nuisance odors at the source anywhere in the collection system.
All Bioteg Biofilters employ our proprietary bpc-Biomedia with an extremely low pressure drop, allowing their use as Passive Biofilters. The normal pressure in the sewer system forces the air through the biofilter, where microorganisms degrade the odorous substances.

Bioteg Manhole Biofilter (MBF-Series)
The Bioteg Manhole Biofilter is a specially designed manhole insert which effectively removes odors from sewer manholes.
The innovative mounting system allows fitting the biofilter into the manhole in a matter of seconds; it can also be easily removed for sewer system maintenance. HDPE and stainless steel construction ensures durable service life and minimal maintenance requirements.
The Bioteg Manhole Biofilter presents an affordable and effective solution to unpleasant street-level sewer odors.
Bioteg Vent Pipe Biofilter (REBF-Series)
The Bioteg Vent Pipe Biofilters present turnkey solutions for high efficiency, low volume (2-15 cfm) H2S removal from underground pump stations and system vent pipes where restrictive space prohibits a Stand-Alone Biofilter.
These vent pipe inserts are quickly and easily installed directly into a vent pipe.
HDPE and stainless steel construction ensures long lasting field life and minimal maintenance requirements.
Bioteg Force Main Biofilter (DEBF-Series)
Bioteg Force Main Biofilters provide mid-volume (15-45 cfm) H2S removal for spot applications surrounding underground pump station and main system vent pipes. They present a negligible footprint and can be easily installed, above or below ground, to an 8’’ flange connection of a force main vent pipe.
As with all Passive Bioteg Biofilters, the DEBF-Series employs our proprietary bpc-Biomedia to provide up to seven years of effective odor removal.
Bioteg’s Active Biofilter Systems
Bioteg also offers active Biofilter Systems (including a fan, humidifier and controls) for larger airflow rates from wastewater treatment plants, composting facilities, the food industry, etc.
All active biofilters are modular and pre-assembled for easy on-site installation.
