In addition to manufacturing Bioclere trickling filters and Lotus submerged fixed film reactors & fluidized bed reactors, Aquapoint employs a range of additional equipment with proprietary technologies to create performance based modular
Submerged Aerated Reactor
Aquapoint`s Submerged Aerated Reactor (SAR) is designed to treat high strength wastewater prior to secondary treatment. SAR protects the bacteria in our BioclereTM and Lotus biological treatment units by stripping certain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that may be present in cleaning chemicals or detergents. If present in high concentrations, these VOCs can degrade bacterial activity and reduce efficiency throughout the remaining treatment processes.
SAR treatment utilizes a submerged self aspirating aerator that distributes diffused air into the waste stream in a 360 degree pattern. Bacteria in the tank adhere to submerged PVC media blocks and absorb organic material as it is circulated throughout the treatment chamber. The well mixed and aerated wastewater flows by gravity to secondary treatment.

Chemical Addition Systems
The addition of chemicals can enhance many wastewater treatment processes. Aquapoint uses chemical feed systems for a variety of applications such as denitrification, phosphorus reduction and alkalinity restoration.
Denitrification is greatly enhanced with the addition of an external carbon source. Catalysts such as 20% methanol and sodium acetate provide denitrifying bacteria with a sufficient amount of carbon to perform denitrification.
Phosphorus reduction is achieved by dosing the wastewater with coagulants that react with phosphates to form insoluble precipitates. The precipitates settle to the bottom of the treatment chamber and the phosphorus concentration in the water is effectively reduced.
Alkalinity feed systems are incorporated where naturally occurring alkalinity is insufficient for treatment. The addition of alkalinity buffers the pH and stabilizes the wastewater so that it can be treated effectively.
Aquapoint is an OEM provider of chemical feed systems from well known, high quality feed system manufacturers such as Neptune, Masterflex, LMI, and others. Intrinsically safe upgrades are available for applications that require explosion proof equipment.
Flow Equalization
Because decentralized wastewater treatment systems often treat water from facilities that have intermittent flows or pressure collection systems, Aquapoint often integrates flow equalization equipment to minimize the impact of flow surges on the treatment process.
The water level in the equalization chamber determines the volume of water pumped to the various treatment components. This ensures that the treatment process performs at its designed efficiency.
