Biological Wastewater Treatment Systems with Trickling Filters, Submerged Fixed Film Reactors and Fluidized Bed Reactors

At Aquapoint we custom design decentralized wastewater treatment systems to meet the discharge standards required by our clients. We have developed a portfolio of modular technologies that enable adaptive solutions to specific waste stream characteristics and demanding regulatory standards.

Aquapoint selects treatment processes for their simplicity, reliability and versatility. Our core technologies Bioclere and Lotus utilize a biological fixed film treatment process that is stable, flexible and competitively priced.

In addition to manufacturing Bioclere trickling filters and Lotus submerged fixed film reactors & fluidized bed reactors, Aquapoint employs a range of proprietary technologies to create performance based modular treatment solutions. Technologies include: Submerged Aerated Reactors (SARs), Dynasand sand filters, ANOX denitrification reactors, Phosphorus precipitation units, UV disinfection systems and drip disposal equipment for wastewater distribution.

Because wastewater treatment is an interactive process, engaging operator and equipment, Aquapoint`s treatment solutions can be designed with Aqua Alert remote monitoring and wireless telemetry controls making operation more efficient and effective.

SECONDARY TREATMENT

Bioclere Trickling Filter

Bioclere is a modified trickling filter over a clarifier that reduces biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5) and total suspended solids (TSS) to levels that meet or exceed NSF and EPA standards. A modular technology, Bioclere`s natural fixed film biological process is a cost-effective system for the secondary treatment of wastewater. Units can be installed in parallel to treat larger flows or in series to achieve greater levels of treatment.

Features

  • Treats flows to 100,000 gpd
  • Low maintenance costs
  • Low energy usage
  • Small footprint
  • Modular design enables phased construction
  • Durable fiberglass construction
  • Sealed and insulated for seasonal conditions
  • Gravity flow system

Benefits

Stable biological process
Bioclere has the ability to handle intermittent flows making it ideal for seasonal institutions and residences

Nitrogen conversion and reduction
Bioclere has achieved up to 80% total nitrogen reduction without the addition of tertiary treatment. For sites  requiring effluent total nitrogen <10 mg/l. Aquapoint will deploy tertiary denitrification processes.

Minimal sludge production
Bioclere fixed film process produces minimal sludge per pound of BOD and re-circulates it to the primary settling tank for eventual removal.

Extended leach field life
Bioclere reduces BOD and TSS concentrations by 85% to 99% which preserves the life of a leach field.

Lotus Submerged Fixed Film

Lotus is a submerged fixed film biological technology designed to perform secondary and tertiary treatment. Each Lotus plant is partitioned into several treatment compartments that can operate under aerobic, anoxic or anaerobic conditions. This variety of treatment environments allows for the reduction of biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5), total suspended solids (TSS), nitrogen and phosphorus.

Features

  • Treats flows from 2,000 to 1,000,000 gpd
  • Extreme climate capabilities
  • Minimal O&M requirements
  • Minimal power requirements
  • Units set above ground or in ground
  • Modular and expandable
  • Small footprint
  • Stainless or epoxy coated steel construction

Benefits

Self Regulating-purging biological reactor
Submerged fixed film processes are self-regulating eliminating the need to actively manage mixed liquor suspended solids (MLSS), waste activated sludge (WAS) and return activated sludge (RAS)

Minimal sludge generation
Under optimum conditions, Lotus mineralizes the majority of the excess sludge resulting in minimal sludge yield.

Extended leach field life
Lotus` efficient removal of TSS and BOD helps to extend the life of a soil disposal system indefinitely.
