Amiantit Pipe Systems
Amiantit is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of pipe systems. The Group’s Pipe Systems division comprises 30 wholly-owned, majority-owned or joint-venture manufacturing facilities in a number of countries round the world.
The comprehensive range of Amiantit products includes pipes, fittings and accessories for water, sewage, hydro-power, gas, oil services, construction, engineering, municipal, industrial, agricultural, tanks and marine applications.
Amiantit supports its pipe systems with a global sales and service network spanning over 70 countries. Specialist services include project consultancy, custom design, and on-site assistance for contractors. Full-scale system installation services are also available if required.
Using the latest technologies, pipes, fittings and accessories are produced in a wide variety of materials such as glass reinforced polyester (GRP), glass reinforced epoxy (GRE), thermoplastic (HDPE, PVC and PP), concrete, polymer concrete, and ductile iron. Well-known international brands include AmPlas, Amipol, AMIPOX, Flowtite, Meyer Polycrete, Speedmark, C-Tech, AmiGrip and Vectus. The manufacturing sites in more than 18 countries can be found under different company names such as Amiantit, Amitech, AFIL, SUBOR, SADIP or SACOP. GRP Product Range
Amiantit the leading supplier of GRP pipes worldwide. Pipes are manufactured using either a continuous filament winding process (Flowtite), centrifugal casting (C-Tech), or cross helical winding process (Vectus). Lightweight and easy to handle, GRP pipes are corrosion-free, with a proven resistance to acidic environments in water and sewage systems. Main applications include transportation of potable water, fire-fighting, irrigation; seawater, desalinated water; chemical and industrial waste, and sewage.
GRP pipes are produced in nominal, inner diameters ranging from DN80 to DN4000 mm, and in lengths from 6 meters upwards.
GRE Product Range
Amiantit employs Amitech Industrial technology to manufacture a range of GRE pipes, fittings, flanges and spools. Lightweight and easy to handle and install, GRE pipes have a smooth internal surface that reduces friction and enables a high pipe flow capacity. The low thermal conductivity of GRE pipes relative to steel (only one percent of steel values) minimizes the cost of insulation and heat loss. Another major benefit of GRE pipes is that, once they are installed, they are virtually maintenance-free. GRE pipes are well suited for environments where corrosion resistance is required at a reasonable price. Main uses include fire-fighting systems, ship and marine applications, offshore and onshore systems, petrochemical process lines as well as oil and gas systems.
GRE pipes are available in diameters ranging from DN25 to DN1,000 mm.
Thermoplastic Product Range
Amiantit produces a range of superior quality thermoplastic pipes. These include high density polyethylene (HDPE), un-plasticized polyvinyl chloride (uPVC), modified polyvinyl chloride (mPVC), and polypropylene (PP) pipes. Main applications include water distribution lines, industrial sewage piping, municipal gravity sewers, relining, gas distribution networks, and industrial outfalls.
Ductile Iron Product Range
Amiantit produces a wide range of ductile iron pipes. Their good mechanical properties, in addition to high durability and strength, make them ideal for high pressure applications. These pipes are covered with special external coatings to ensure that they can withstand different environmental conditions. Ductile iron pipes are used extensively in systems transporting potable water, industrial water, irrigation water, pressure sewage, natural gas, high temperature liquids, and chemicals. Amiantit produces ductile iron pipes in diameters ranging from 80 to 800 mm, together with fittings and valve assemblies.
Concrete Product Range
The Group manufactures a wide range of concrete cylinder pipes, reinforced and pre-stressed concrete cylinder pipes, and reinforced concrete pipes, and jacking pipes.
In addition, using Meyer Polycrete technology, Amiantit produces a range of polymer concrete pipes, fittings and manholes as well. Concrete and concrete-related pipes offer an economical and reliable solution for most water transmission, sea water cooling, storm water, drainage, wastewater and sewage system requirements. Pipes are available in diameters ranging from 300 to 4,000 mm, with pressures up to 40 bars. Bigger diameters can be produced on request.
