The Hydra-Stop® System
The Hydra-Stop System is a flexible and expandable line stopping system. It allows you to make a minimum initial investment and expand your system, as desired, to obtain full line stopping, line tapping, and valve insertion capabilities. The Hydra-Stop System eliminates shutdowns when isolating water, wastewater, or gas lines for repair, maintenance, or replacement of valves and hydrants. Using patented “stopper” technology, the Hydra- Stop System is rated up to 250 psi and guarantees 95% to 100% stoppage of flow at point of repair. For use on any common pipe—cast iron, asbestos cement, pit cast, ductile iron and plastic (C900 and IPS PVC)—the Hydra- Stopping System’s advanced design eliminates complicated field operations, enabling repairs in one-third the time required for other conventional methods. Available for purchase from ¾” to 20”. Larger sizes are available for contract services.
Hydra-Tapper™ Line Tapping Machine
The revolutionary, lightweight Hydra-Tapper line tapping machine makes line taps on water, wastewater, or gas lines quick and easy. Traditional tapping machines can require two, three, or more workers to perform a simple line tap. Hydra-Tapper only requires one operator. Superior engineering, rugged construction and fewer moving parts means Hydra-Tapper is designed to operate without costly and annoying malfunctions. Hydra-Tapper’s light weight also eliminates the need for expensive blocking and bracing. The Hydra-Tapper is rated at 150 psi. Higher pressures are available on request with the Hydra-Tapper HD (heavy-duty tapping machine). The Hydra-Tapper is available in sizes ranging from ¾” to 20”.
Insta-Dam® Modular Line Stopping System
Major service disruptions and shutdowns of critical water, wastewater, and gas distribution systems can now be eliminated with the Insta-Dam® modular line stopping systems. Requiring one-third the time of traditional methods, such as pipe freezing, Insta-Dam isolates pipes ranging in size from ¾” to 4” for repair or replacement in a matter of minutes. Environmentally friendly, Insta-Dam requires no environmental contaminants such as chlorofluorocarbons. Rated to 100 psi, Insta-Dam is also an economic means of changing out water meters and backflow prevention devices. Small, yet rugged, Insta-Dam can be easily handled by one person in any setting, including overhead pipe installations.
Insta-Valve® Insertable Valve
Insta-Valve®, the easy-to-install, easy-to-use insertable valves provide unprecedented control of distribution systems without disrupting service. The patented Insta- Valve is a highly reliable, easily inserted quick valve installation. Just install the fitting, make a line tap, then install the valve. Insta-Valve reduces the problems commonly associated with valve insertion and valve replacement by eliminating the need for complicated planning and coordination. Available in 4” through 12”, Insta-Valve can be installed under pressure, up to 100 psi, and operated with a standard valve key.
Insta-Valve requires only one cut, no reaming, no excessive pipe strength loss, and provides immediate system control.
Jr. Hydra-Stopper® Tapping and Line Stopping Machine
Eliminate shutdowns or pipe freezings to make line repairs, change out valves, meters and backflow devices in lines under pressure with the Jr. Hydra-Stopper® line tapping and line stopping machine. Make line taps or line stops on pipelines, piping, and tanks with the turn of a finger. Using patented “stopper” technology, Jr. Hydra- Stopper is suitable for cast iron, asbestos cement, steel, pit cast, ductile iron, plastic and copper pipe. Available in sizes ¾” thru 2” for stopping with adapters and cutters in sizes ¾” thru 2½” for tapping, Jr. Hydra-Stopper is rated up to 100 psi in all sizes. Higher pressures are available on request.
Hydra-Turn® 1 Valve Turning Machine
The Hydra-Turn®1 valve turning machine guarantees application of the proper torque for each size valve. Equipped with a fully instrumented control panel, the Hydra-Turn1 valve turning machine provides constant indication of operation conditions. Used in combination with a special trailer, or swing arm, the Hydra-Turn1 valve turning machine allows regeneration of valves located in gate wells and vaults. The Hydra-Turn1 valve turning machine is an asset that can help you locate, operate and maintain records for every valve in your system, minimizing future expenses and disruption of service.
Contract Services: Municipal, Industrial, and Gas Applications
Contract line stopping, line tapping and valve insertion services using Hydra-Stop products are available for planned or emergency pipeline maintenance of municipal, industrial, and gas applications. For municipal applications, line stopping equipment (through 60” diameter) is available on short notice. Larger sizes are available with pre planning. Industrial contract services include work on toxic and non-toxic substances, leak repairs, including steam, and the fabrication of custom fittings when necessary. Contract line stopping and bypassing applications for gas projects range in size from ¾” through 48” diameters.
