Biography

With an international network of more than 500 independent water treatment companies and affiliates and representing the largest share of the U.S. water treatment market, the Association of Water Technologies (AWT) is the leading voice in the water treatment industry.
The Association of Water Technologies is dedicated to serving its member firms by providing business and professional education and resource support. To help promote member growth and development, AWT provides training, certification, networking opportunities and regulatory and public awareness programs.
AWT was founded in 1985 by a small group of water treatment entrepreneurs. Over the past 18 years the association has grown in both size and scope and serves to represent independent water treatment companies and associated businesses throughout the United States and internationally.
AWT members are regional independent water treatment firms that specialize in providing products, technical services and consulting for boiler water, cooling water and wastewater treatment programs. In addition, AWT represents more than 100 consultants, distributors and manufacturers providing a wide array of water treatment services, chemicals and equipment.
Providing leadership to the market, AWT has developed the only independent certification program in the industry, the Certified Water Technologists (CWT). The CWT is the first independent certification of its kind for boiler and cooling water treatment specialists and requires extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of water treatment. There are currently more than 150 technologists certified by AWT internationally.
