Biography

Dr. Kline has eleven years of professional experience and has conducted six years of graduate research, specializing in aquatic toxicology, fish and invertebrate biology, aquatic habitat studies, data analysis, and experimental design. Between 1985 and 1992, his professional and M.S. research included ecological and physiological freshwater toxicity studies performed in laboratory and field settings with an array of organic and inorganic toxicants. This well published research was conducted in affiliation with several universities and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Since 1993, he has investigated a wide range of freshwater and marine issues associated mainly with mining operations. For his Ph.D., he independently conceived a multifaceted mine waste disposal research project and raised funds from government, university, and private industry sources. As an industry scientist, he conducted chemical and biological research pertaining to mine tailings and wastewater disposal in addition to managing consultants, assisting with permitting, and presenting research findings to the public, special interest groups, and government agencies. As an environmental consultant, he is experienced in aquatic monitoring and baseline data collection, fish and wildlife surveys, habitat analysis and restoration, project management, environmental compliance and permitting, and data analysis. Dr. Kline has completed a variety of logistically and technically demanding projects for his clients from study design, to final report, to agency presentation and discussion.
