The Water Environment Federation (WEF) has issued the call for abstracts for WEFTEC.09 - WEF's 82nd annual technical exhibition and conference. Scheduled from October 10-14, 2009, WEFTEC.09 will be held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

The call for abstracts provides a great opportunity for water quality professionals to gain exposure for their work and research with both domestic and international audiences. In addition to being part of the world-class technical program and published in the official conference proceedings, authors may also present their work to the more than 18,000 water quality professionals who come to WEFTEC from around the world each year. Following the conference, accepted authors may also submit their papers for publication in WEF's peer-reviewed journal, Water Environment Research.

WEF is soliciting abstracts on more than 20 wide-range, cutting-edge water quality topics including: coastal issues; collection systems; microconstituents/endocrine disrupting compounds; disaster planning; facility operations; groundwater; industrial issues and technology; instrumentation, automation and computer applications; international and small island nations' issues; leading edge research; management of odors and VOCs; municipal wastewater treatment; public education; residuals and biosolids; small community and decentralized water infrastructure; small island nations: water, wastewater and environmental issues (international issues); stormwater management and wet weather flows; surface water quality and ecology; sustainable water resources management; utility and asset management; water and wastewater disinfection; water reuse and reclamation; and watershed-based permitting/TMDLs.

The deadline for submission is December 3, 2008 at 12:00 am US Eastern Time Zone (05:00 GMT). Interested parties may visit http://www.weftec.org/Education/CallforAbstracts.htm for more details and to obtain submission requirements/instructions.
