Affholder, Inc., a subsidiary of Insituform®, uses tunneling methods to perform trenchless installations of new pipelines. Affholder also provides a wide range of trenchless pipe rehabilitation services, including pipejacking, shotcrete and sliplining, throughout North America.
Experienced Tunneling Professionals
Affholder has constructed hundreds of utility tunnels throughout North America, ranging from one to 26 feet in diameter.Our inventory of well-maintained underground equipment includes Lovat earth pressure balance tunneling machines, Robbins® hard rock tunneling machines, and an Iseki microtunneling machine. Using this sophisticated equipment, our trained crews have bored tunnels through a wide variety of subsurface conditions.
Trenchless Rehabilitation Experience
Affholder`s underground services also include the trenchless rehabilitation of deteriorating pipeline infrastructure. We have expertise in sliplining, wet mix and dry mix shotcrete rehabilitation, epoxy resin grouting and manhole rehabilitation.
Safe Work Practices
To minimize the risks inherent in underground construction, Affholder has developed one of the most comprehensive safety programs in the industry. Our on-site employees, led by a designated safety manager, are each cross-trained in all areas of jobsite safety, including tunnel rescue procedures, first aid and CPR. In many cases, we also provide specialized rescue training to personnel in the communities in which we work.
