Biography

Val Frenkel, Principal Process Engineer with Kennedy/Jenks Consultants is the company - wide technology leader for Membrane Treatment, and leads Membrane Group.
Dr. Frenkel has over 20 years of experience in engineering, with expertise in water, wastewater, and water reuse treatment and membrane technologies in both municipal and industrial applications. He has created new innovative processes, technologies, and engineering concepts that resolve complex tasks; found non-standard, original solutions to clients’ project issues; and resolved clients’ technical problems during project construction and pilot plant testing. Dr. Frenkel has also authored several patents in the area of water and wastewater treatment.
In addition to his technical accomplishments, Dr. Frenkel has received numerous project management awards and has had a successful record of realizing project savings through technological alternatives. He has taught at the university level, worked in consulting practices, and published extensively both in the US and abroad.
Dr. Frenkel received a Ph.D. in Water and Ecology Science and an M.S. in Civil Engineering/Water and Wastewater Treatment from Lvov Polytechnic University. He is a member of the American Water Works Association, where he is a Candidate to the Board of Directors WFP, the Association of Engineers, Architects and Graduates in Israel, the European Desalination Society, Ontario Society of Professional Engineers, Professional Engineers of Ontario, and the Water Environment Association of Ontario.
