During its twenty years experience, MARINCO has built and sold all over the world more than 2500 reverse osmosis equipment for water treatment and production of fresh water from sea water. MARINCO is specialized in the nautical field and in the naval one, with a production of plants with a capacity from 30 l/h to 800 mc/day (tested by RINA-DNV-LLOYD'S).

MARINCO can also supply equipment for processing waters for industry (demineralized and sterilized water). For civil uses MARINCO has designed and built plants for water treatment for hotels, resorts and vacation centers.

MARINCO, that has always paid great attention to satisfy the requirements of its clientele, ensures top quality products, as it directly manufactures almost all the components of desalinators, using the best materials on the market and employs skilled technical staff. Furthermore, the long experience acquired thanks to the many plants installed all over the world allowed MARINCO to have a widespread customer service.

Thanks to an extended home and foreign service network, skilled technical staff and fast intervention, MARINCO ensures a high reliability of its plants. Besides MARINCO has an on-line service, through the internet, so guaranteeing a 24-hours-a-day prompt answer to answer any assistance problem. NAUTICAL SECTOR

AQUASTAR - Desalinators for Pleasure Crafts

Reverse Osmosis Desalinators to produce sweet water from sea water for pleasure boats and small marine craft which represent around 30 % of the turn over.

Simple desalinator, easy to use, ideal for sports cruisers. It is made of solid AISI 316 L stainless steel and is extremely enduring; thanks to its dimensions it is suitable for small spaces.

Aquastar is a machine belonging to the new generation that, in the "Plus" version, is fitted with a self-diagnosis system, transmitting data to a control panel. All Aquastar models can be supplied disassembled, on request.

AQUAMARINE

It is the smaller version of the plants operating on ships. It runs on a microprocessor that makes it completely automatic and autonomous in the functioning phase and for every aspect concerning maintenance. It can also be operated with the onboard PC or by means of a remote control.

Industrial pumps and engines are “tropicalized” and adjusted to work 24 hours a day in small rooms, such as the engine room of a motoryatch.

NAVAL SECTOR

Reverse osmosis is a membrane process which removes both salts and organic microorganisms from sea and brackish water.

Reverse Osmosis Desalinators to produce sweet water from sea water. These units are mainly installed aboard large cruising ship. In this sector Marinco S.r.l. has supplied desalinators from 120 to 300 m3/day to large cruising ship as Italia Prima, Italy - Rhapsody, Switzerland - Minerva, Monte Carlo.

Besides that Marinco S.r.l. has supplied 4 desalinators of 30 m3/day capacity to ships for chemical carrying. One desalinator 20 m3/day was supplied to an Italian Company operating in the Red Sea. This sector covers the 40 % of the Marinco S.r.l. turn over.

ECOPURE

Ecopure desalinators are conceived for a prolonged and intense use. It deals with professional plants that can work 24 hours a day for several years.

Models highly professional complete with many instruments and automation. Nominal capacity from 30 l/h (720 l/day) up to 590 l/h (14.160) l/day). Membrane with salt rejection over 99%. High pressure pump in marine bronze and components in the high pressure line entirely in stainless steel AISI 316 for an intensive use of our machine or for exigent customers who want to buy the best.

Electric engines belong to H class and IP55 insulation class to ensure a better waterproofing and resistance to heat. It is equipped with hand operated valves for starting, stopping, washing and rinsing processes.

They are made of AISI316L stainless steel and are assembled with the best components found in the market.

Models with nominal capacity of 712 I/h up to 45583 I/h (17 m3 /day to 1094 m3 /day), complete with membranes for seawater and able to remove 99% of salt and pumps for pressure up to 69 bar.

Desalinator AMRO 10MS840 for sea water with nominal capacity of 9.5 m3/h (228 m3/day). This plant has been installed in large passenger ship and it is equipped with a new multi-stage centrifugal pump completely maintenance free.

Deaslinator AMRO 6MS440 is a box shaped desalinator for platform, with a nominal capacity of 1452 I/h 34 m3/day.

Desalinator AMRO 3MS840 has a nominal capacity of 68 m3/day, Lloyds Register homoglated.

Reverse Osmosis Desalinators to produce sweet water from sea water and/or brackish well water. In this sector Marinco S.r.l. has sold hundreds of units for villas and family palace, in Kenya, Tanzania, Egypt, Greece, South Italy, Tunisia, Morocco, Thailand, and Malaysia. Medium capacity plants from 20 m3/day to 50 m3/day for hotel and resorts have been sold in Kenya, Tanzania, Algeria, Morocco, Greece, and Maldives Islands. A plant of 550 m3/day has been delivered in Male, Republic of Maldives, to the local Government. This sector is around 30 % of the Marinco S.r.l. turn over.

Reverse Osmosis is a process which allows to remove salts and organic material from brackish and sea water, by means of a synthetic semi permeable membrane.
In order to realize the process, it is necessary to put under high pressure the water to be treated.

Under the effect of pressure a portion of water passes through the membrane and this is pure H2O and small percentage of salts, as required for the water to be drinkable.

The remaining part is more concentrated water, which must be discarded. The water produced is drinkable, of very good quality and even sterile. In fact, if the membrane rejects the salt molecules it rejects also bacteria and viruses which are formed by millions of molecules everyone.

The high pressure pump is the only part in movement and the electric energy required for one liter of sweet water produced is so low to render this process much more economic and convenient than resin deionization or vaporation. Membranes have normally a life over 5 years. The maintenance required is negligible.

The quality of the water produced is excellent and comparable to the one of the best natural spring. Our machines are constructed with a modular system using one or more membrane elements moreover described. The membranes are lodged inside suitable pressure vessels. All our system is complete of a high pressure pump. Pressure is regulated by means of a regulating valve. Vessels and tubes are supported by a mild painted steel frame which also supports the pump, the electric control panel and the instrumentation.

In our desalinator are placed one or more membranes made in new amidic copolymer resistant up to 45°C, 0.2 ppm free chlorine, pH from 2 to 12, high permeability per m2.The membranes are lodged inside suitable pressure vessels and are of the spiral of 300-400 mg/l like the best light mineral waters. The membrane porosity is only 0, 0004 microns. The produced water is free from viruses, bacteria, organic pollutants being those ones much larger than the membrane pores.

Reverse Osmosis Desalinators for Production of Sterile Fresh Drinking Water from Brackish Water:

DOMOPURE

Models very simple and low priced, with capacity from 30 l/h (720 l/day) up to 590 l/h (14.200 l/day). Suitable for producing the whole daily need of a family, a bar hotel kitchen or a small residence. Membrane with 98% salt rejection.

SEPRO

Models with capacity ranging from 85.5 l/h (20.5 m.cubi/day) up to 11.8 l/h (342 m.cubi/day). Constructed with industrial type components. Plants skid mounted and complete of normal prepost-treatment. Fully automatic functioning. Membrane with 98% salt rejection.

Reverse Osmosis Desalinators for Production of Sterile Fresh Drinking Water from Seawater:

DEMRO - Reverse Osmosis Deionizers for Production of Deionized Ultrapure Water

Basic Principle

MARINCO deionizers’ series DEMRO operate on the reverse osmosis principle which consists of salts and organics removal from water by means of one or more semi permeable membranes. In order to function efficiently it is necessary to pressurize the water to deionize inside the membranes. Under the effect of pressure only pure water H20 and a very small quantity of salts pass through the membrane and this portion is said "permeate". The remaining part is more concentrated water which contains all removed salts and all organics and it is said "concentrate", which is sent to drain. Our DEMRO are very simple to use and they require very low maintenance and man labour. 
   
Principal Advantage

Reverse osmosis technology allows transforming feed water up to 80-90% as deionized water. The discarded water is normally concentrate water within the limits of the waste water maximum pollution standards so there is no requirement concerning water pollution. At the contrary using ion exchange resin deionizers the water produced during resins regeneration cannot be drained-off because it is much over the maximum levels acceptable for waste water drain. A further advantage is that the produced water by DEMRO systems is sterile because viruses and bacteria are much larger than the membrane pores and they cannot pass through.
   
Available Membranes

MARINCO units have one or more spiral wound membranes placed inside suitable vessels in stainless steel or reinforced polyester fibers depending on the models. Our membranes are in polyamide, which is the best up-to date polymer for membranes: depending on the needs we have available 2 types of spiral wound membranes: - normal BW membranes having 98% salt rejection for monovalent ions and 99% for polyvalent ions. Sofar, treating normal municipal water with about 300-400 mg/l TDS and 75% recovery rate the produced water has an approximate residual salinity of 20-30 mgII as TDS.

Special LP-HR membranes having over 99.2% salts rejection for monovalent ions and over 99.5% for polyvalent ions. In this case residual salinity has only 8-10 mg/l TDS and even less. When lower TDS is required we install after our DEMRO units a mixed bed ion exchange resin deionizer which has only the function of a final polishing.
   
Raw Water Pre-Treatment

Necessary to avoid calcium and magnesium scale on membrane surface. Required for feed water when there is not a water softener before our DEMRO plant. Chemical pre-treatment is normally made just adding 10-12 ppm of our scale inhibitor Osmoguard by means of our dosing pump PD-1 supplied in extra price. Sometimes it is required to remove iron and/or silica orto remove turbidity or also remove colloidal particles adding a flocculation chemical. In certain cases we must disinfect raw water with ultraviolet or with chlorine and subsequent sodium bisulphate addition for chlorine removal. Pre-treatment must be studied case by case depending on water analysis. DEMRO 3MS 440
   
Produced Water Post-Treatment

Sometimes it is required to produce ultrapure water with salinity lower than 5 ppm down to 0.1 ppm. In this case we install downstream a mixed polishing water to exchange deionizer that we propose case by case depending on customer needs. Sometimes we supply one of our UV sterilizers to be placed after pure water storage tank and when needed we also supply continuous recirculation system to maintain constant ultrapure water quality.
