Belt Dryer Pro-Dry for the Drying of Moist Materials, Dewatered Sludges and Heat-Sensitive Products

The belt dryer type Pro-Dry® is suitable for numerous fields of application and has been developed for the drying of moist materials, dewatered sludges and heat-sensitive products from industrial processes and wastewater treatment. Partial drying up to a residual moisture between 30 and <10 % is also possible.

Typically, the dryer and the entire ventilation part are designed in stainless steel to ensure adequate corrosion protection and therefore durability. The belt dryers are designed in modules, so extension can be considered at a later stage.

Special features of the belt dryer are the low operation and maintenance costs due to the comparatively simple process technology. The manpower requirements for the plant are considerably low and the plant is designed to operate fully automatical for 24 hours per day.

An interesting aspect is the use of low-temperature waste heat generated by different processes as energy sources for the drying process.

The pre-heating of the drying air can be performed with waste heat, warm water, warm exhaust gases or low-pressure steam as well as with biogas, natural gas, oil or what ever is available.

A typical energy source is for example the usage of warm water by means of heat exchangers, with temperature of approx. 80° C. Warm water results e.g. from the motor cooling system of a CHP.

Due to the careful drying process with temperatures below 100 °C and without any mechanical stress applied on the material to be dried, explosion or fire protection to a very high standard is achieved by very simple means.

Odour emissions and pollution of waste air or water can be held far below required limit values.

Advantages and characteristics of the belt dryer Pro-Dry:

  • Low energy consumption,
  • Use of waste heat (e. g. of a CHP-engine) as energy source,
  • Safe and reliable operation,
  • No odour or emissions,
  • No observation or maintenance,
  • Dried product hygienisized and free of dust,
  • From turnkey plants to units for optimizing existing processes
