Interapp Butterfly Valve Ranges for Applications in a Variety of Industries

The history of InterApp provides the best example of the power of innovation. What began 35 years ago on a small-scale, has since expanded to an impressive size. Today, InterApp is a worldwide enterprise, which has established itself in many national markets and which sets the trend with first-class products and intelligent systems. The control centre for the various corporate activities is our head office in Rotkreuz (Switzerland), where there is a tailor made infrastructure consisting of production of PTFE/PFA butterfly valves, workshop, store, administration office and training room. Rotkreuz is, on the one hand, head office of the group but, on the other, it is also a typical sales and marketing organization with branches in Italy, Austria, Hungary, Spain and Australia. Furthermore we run a production factory for elastomer seated butterfly valves in Madrid, Spain. In other markets we work together with qualified sales partners. Innovative thinking and market orientated actions will continue to make InterApp stand out in the future.

Currently with offices all over the world, InterApp caters to many markets:

- Water treatment: Our Aquaria, Desponia and Elara butterfly valve ranges have been developed and improved over the years for application in areas such as drinking water, waste water treatment and in desalination plants.

- Chemical industry: In the chemical industries, where nothing can be left to chance, our quarter turn valves can be used with complete confidence.

- Mining industry: The Bianca valve, in sizes up to 900mm diameter, can often be the answer to the demanding situation posed by the combination of strong acid and organic mixtures found in solvent extraction plants.

- Pharma, Food, Biotec & High Purity: In the pharmaceutical industries, where sterilisation is a major concern, we supply valves manufactured from high quality alloys.

InterApp Caters To the Water Treatment Industry

Water

Regardless of whether it’s a question of drinking water, waste water, sea water or process water: the butterfly valves of the series DESPONIA, ELARA and AQUARIA have been used successfully for many years. Companies active worldwide in the water sector such as Degrémont, Veolia, Hyflux etc. value the high quality of our quarter turn valves and their reliable mode of operation.

One of our core competences is the development and manufacture of butterfly valves from DN 600-1600 mm. Thanks to a modular system in the production phase, we are in a position to guarantee the specifications made by our customers.

The actuators and control components, which are optimally attuned to the valves, guarantee reliable and, at the same time, economic operation.

Our Aquaria, Desponia and Elara butterfly valve ranges have been developed and improved over the years for application in areas such as drinking water, waste water treatment and in desalination plants. Part of our core competence is the production of butterfly valves between 600mm and 1400mm. Due to our modular system of production, we are able to tailor our valves to suit your operating conditions. We complement our valves with an extensive range of actuators and control modules to give a reliable and economical solution.

Chemical Processes

Why do InterApp quarter turn valves and actuators enjoy the most absolute levels of trust? The answer to this question is simple: because InterApp quarter-turn valves and actuators are precisely tailored to fit the requirements of our sophisticated customers in this segment.

Butterfly valves in the BIANCA series, for example, are not only manufactured with the conventional PTFE liners. For special requirements such as increased diffusion resistance, better surface condition, resistance to abrasion or longer periods of use thanks to lower cold flow, we recommend the use of ULTRAFLON, a higher-grade fluoroplastic in comparison to PTFE.

Life without InterApp quarter turn valves, whether the ELARA, DESPONIA plus butterfly valve or our ball valves, is no longer imaginable with regard to chemical processes, since they offer the highest degree of safety.

In the chemical industries, where nothing can be left to chance, our quarter turn valves can be used with complete confidence. In addition to our standard PTFE liners, we offer Ultraflon liners where reliability is of the utmost concern. Ultraflon possesses enhanced characteristics, such as lower permeability, better abrasion resistance and lower cold flow than PTFE. Elara double eccentric butterfly valves are designed for high temperature or high pressure applications, and can be supplied in either PTFE or metal seated versions. Quarter turn valves from InterApp should always be taken into consideration for chemical process applications.

Mining Industry

In the control of highly-corrosive media, for example in the extraction of metals from ores or in other chemical processes, safety for people and for the environment is our priority.

The answer to the safe valve question is called BIANCA. This type series is available up to a nominal width of 900 mm.

Where other valves reach the limits of their capacity and resistance, the application range of BIANCA begins. Thanks to some construction advantages and a disc coated homogenously with PFA, BIANCA has virtually no limits as regards resistance.

An ATEX-compliant design for use in explosion danger zones completes the program.
Thanks to the high reliability of BIANCA, losses of production have been reduced, the capacity and utilization of plants increased, and in this way costs lowered. An investment with a good return!

The Bianca valve, in sizes up to 900mm diameter, can often be the answer to the demanding situation posed by the combination of strong acid and organic mixtures found in solvent extraction plants. Where Halar coating has reached its limit in terms of resistance, Bianca butterfly valves with PTFE liners and PFA coated discs may be used. To cater for potentially explosive areas, we offer a solution with our range of ATEX compliant valves. Since our Bianca butterfly valves are so reliable, you will experience benefits in terms of reduced production losses, increased production and reduced operating costs.

Butterfly Valve Ranges for the Mining Industry

Life Science

Sterilizability, high purity, no dead spaces are just some of the requirements to be met in the pharmaceutical, food, biotechnology and life science sectors.

To meet them, valves that are made of highly alloyed metals and high grade sealing materials are needed. Diaphragm valves, special ball valves and PTFE sealing butterfly valves in stainless design are ideally suited for this application.

Pharma, Food, Biotec & High Purity

In the pharmaceutical industries, where sterilization is a major concern, we supply valves manufactured from high quality alloys. Whilst in the main process, diaphragm valves are often used, in the utilities, such as sterile gases and steam, our stainless steel BVP ball valves and Bianca butterfly valves offer the optimal solution. During the production of microprocessors, it is necessary to perform high purity water flushing after each process step. Our Bianca HP valve fulfils this essential high purity requirement by being manufactured under clean room conditions, including special packing, prior to dispatch.
To meet the clean room requirements in the manufacture of microprocessors, water of the highest purity is needed. The BIANCA-HP (HP stands for high purity) meets this requirement, since it is manufactured and packaged under clean room conditions.

Other Markets

From A for automobile industry to Z for zinc extraction in the mining industry, the products and service of InterApp offer you the right valve for the specific use you require it for.

In order to effectively meet your requirements, InterApp has a broad range of butterfly valves, ball valves and accessories, which through the use of a great variety of materials can solve even the most demanding tasks.

We offer our customers the know-how we’ve accumulated over 35 years of experience. Whether in simple applications or in situations where the highest degree of safety is called for, InterApp has the complete trust of its customers and partners.
