Benefits of High Pressure Pumps
High-Pressure Pumps for Seawater RO Applications

Benefits of High Pressure Pumps: Low Energy Consumption, Corrosion Resistance, High-Pressure Operation, Wide Flow Range, Constant Flow, Low Pulsation

Our High Pressure Desalination Pumps give the following benefits

Low Energy Consumption
Total efficiencies up to 97% – among the most efficient in the market. Permeate cost by the use of Danfoss APP pumps and energy recovery can be reduced to just below 2 kWh/m3

8,000 Hours Maintenance Free Operation
Danfoss guarantees a minimum of 8,000 hours of operation (maximum 18 months from date of production) provided that the pump is used according to Danfoss specifications for pre-filtration, pressure, and rotation speed.

Corrosion Resistance
All wetted parts of the APP pumps are made of Duplex, Super-Duplex stainless steel and polymer, ensuring resistance to corrosive and low viscosity fluids, e.g. seawater and brackish water.

High-Pressure Operation
Continuous operation at a discharge pressure between 10 and 80 bar (145-1160 psi). Higher discharge pressures are available on request.

Wide Flow Range
One pump size covers the same flow range as several centrifugal pumps, because the flow is a linear function of the speed (rpm). The reverse osmosis pumps run at speeds between 700 and 3,450 rpm

Low Pulsation
A design featuring up to nine pistons reduces pressure pulsations in the discharge line down to 1.5 percent, rendering pulsation dampers superfluous addition, and reducing installing cost.

Constant Flow
Unlike other pump principles, the APP pump provides an almost constant flow regardless of variations in the pressure. This means that the flow will remain constant irrespective of e.g. a gradual membrane contamination.

Compact Design
The most compact high-pressure pump on the market. Giving system builders a free hand to design more compact systems. The APP pump may also be directly mounted onto an electrical motor via a bell-housing with a flexible coupling. No need for frames, belt drive or gearbox.

Danfoss A/S RO Solutions can supply all APP High-pressure pumps with ATEX approval mounted with EX-proof Zone II motors via stainless steel housing for offshore applications.
