Secoh Sangyo Electromagnetic Blowers and Air Diaphragm Type Pumps

Blowers and vacuum pumps by Secoh are ideally suited for applications where minimum energy consumption, delivery of absolutely oil-free air, near silent operation and a minimum of simple maintenance are either prerequisites or of great advantage. Our diaphragm type blowers have characteristics of low power consumption and low noise, which are superior to previous blowers. These can blow clean air because no oil is used.
Our blowers supply air for aquariums, industrial equipments, effluent treatment facilities and others.

Electromagnetic Diaphragm Pump: Phoe-nix Series

Electromagnetic Diaphragm Pump: SLL Series

Features

Long life expectancy

The simple mechanism and the very few construction parts guarantee a long and reliable period of operation.

Low noise level

The soundproof casing and the muffler integrated in the tank base reduce operating noise. The Secoh diaphragm pumps are extremely quiet, as shown by the decibel values.

High degree of efficiency

Operation is based upon the principle of electromagnetic oscillation, which eliminates the need for any sliding parts, thereby minimising power consumption and providing a high degree of efficiency.

Completely oil-free

The completely oil-free operation guarantees a dry and unadulterated air flow.

Compact and light construction form

Motor and pump parts are combined in one single construction.

Low vibration

The pump casing is separated from the outer casing by vibration-isolating rubber

Very little pulsation

Thanks to the specially formed pump chambers and the muffler integrated in the tank base, the exhaust air flow is practically pulsation-free.

Rainproof

The SLL and EL series are rainproof and therefore eliminating the need for special housing and can be placed f. e. on a house wall.

Applications

The following examples demonstrate some possible fields of application.

  • Domestic sewage plants
  • Filter systems
  • Koi and garden ponds
  • Aeration of chemical and biological bath
  • Scent systems and odour neutralisation
  • Tank pressuration
  • Airbeds and decubitus mattresses
  • Underwater massages and whirlpools
  • Compression therapy
  • Aqua-Air-Lights and design pillars

Operating principle

The activated electromagnets put the magnet holder into a linear movement.  The magnet holder, which moves back and forth between the electromagnet at the same frequency as that of the power supply, sets a diaphragm going on both sides, which then changes the valve box volume. By discharging via the valves, both vacuum and pressure can be realized.

The operating principle of an electromagnetic oscillation is well known for its excellent efficiency! The electrical energy is not used up by mechanical friction in crank assemblies, sliding parts or bearings, but is directly utilized for pump movement via the membranes. Lubricants are not necessary and are not to be found either in the linear drive or in the pump chamber. This means no wearing parts and therefore long lifetime, oil-free operation and absolute low power consumption.

Smart Pumps

Effluent Pumps

Operation mode: Continuously or intermittent (not recommend for Silicone)

Materials:

Different rubber components for the special requirements of various waste waters are available. The most common materials are EPDM, a kind of rubber that is used for a long time in lots of variants in municipal waste water treatment plants.

Also silicone rubber can be used for fine bubble diffusers. But silicone membranes are more sensitive to all mechanical movements. Because of this reason, we are using special silicone compounds and also special diffuser designs.

For all these reasons, silicone membranes are a good alternative for the use in all waste waters which damage or destroy EPDM such as high concentrated grease, oil and hydrocarbons and should only be used there. For all waste waters with middle and low concentrated grease and oil it is also possible to use EPDM with low plasticiser content. The normal content of plasticiser is appr. 30%. It can be reduced to 15% for EPDM sleeves and to 10% for disc membranes.

Storage:

Diffuser and/or rubber sleeves must be stored factory-packed in a dark, dry, ventilated and dust-free storage space according to DIN 7716. Avoid frost, heat, UV/Vis-radiation, dust and working which can cause damage of diffuser and/or packing.

Do not store outdoors! The storage of rubber parts until installation/starting operation should not exceed one year. At on-site delivery all rubber and plastic parts must be stored in their original packaging.

Cleaning:

Diffusers can only be checked, if the activated sludge tank is out of work and empty. That is why normal cleaning must be done at work. Formic acid is used very successfully against carbonating. To keep the pores open, formic acid is sprayed into the compressed air for a short time. Also a regular use with maximum air flow for a short time helps keep the diffuser in good conditions for a long time.

Membrane lifetime:

Up to 10 years in municipal waste water treatment plants, depending on waste water influent and operation condition.
