AGF Technology
The 48" AGF battery is a filtration system designed for medium & high flow rates (90-1000 m3/hr and higher).
Each 48" AGF unit contains a certain volume of fine gravel that functions as the filtration media. The inlet of source water to the filter is built at the top of the filter. The water flows through the gravel media, leaving the solid impurities in it. After filtration the water flows through the nozzles at the bottom of the filter, where it is collected to the outlet manifold.
The three way valve on each filter's inlet has 2 positions:
Filtration position - Inlet to the filter open - allows flow of the source water from the inlet manifold into the filter and through the gravel media to the outlet manifold and then to customer.
Backflush position - Inlet to the filter closes, and drain is opened clean water from the outlet manifold flows in the opposite direction into the filter, causing suspension of the gravel particles, and flushing the solid impurities from the gravel through the drain manifold.
The cleaning process of the media is at the full flow rate (of the filter) in the opposite direction.
The automatic backwash process is run by a controller. When the filters are loaded (with solid impurities) the difference of pressure between the inlet and the outlet of the filter system rises. In response to a programmed signal according to pressure difference or time interval, the control unit which starts and runs the backwash process of the filters in the battery one after the other. Only one filter at a time is cleaned while other filters in the battery continue to supply clean water to the downstream, and for the backwash process.
Sand Separators
Size: 2" sand separator Batteries
3"-10" inlet/outlet manifold diameter
Capacity: Modular for different flow rates (about 20 m3/hr per unit)
Operation: Automatic sand separation with optional built-in backup disc filtration
Standard Features:
- High efficiency of sand separation
- Long-term operation with little maintenance
- Self operating - maintenance close to zero
- Corrosion resistant
- Continuous flow during backwash
Special Features:
- Isolation valves allow for:
1. Maximum flexibility of flow rates with maximum separation efficiency.
2. Continuous flow during individual unit maintenance
- Special design prevents erosion damages caused by the high velocity of sandy water flow
Sand Separator Technology
The 2" Sand Separator battery is a modular system that separates sand from the water and collects the sand at the bottom of the system, ready to be drained.
Sand Separator batteries may be built with manual (or automatic) disc filter units that filtrate the residual sand particles and other solid impurities from the water. The inlet of each filter unit is connected to the outlet of one of the sand separators and completes its operation. Each filter unit has one filtration element composed of a stack of grooved discs.
The number of sand separators in the battery can range between 1 to 24, depending on the application requirements, such as the flow rate.
One sand separator unit is designed for approximately 20 m3/hr. Each sand separator can be isolated from the battery by 3 manual valves, which permits changing the number of functioning units if the flow rate is changed.
The 2" Sand Separator battery continuously supplies clean water to the downstream, and does not require any manual interference.
The concentrated sandy water should be flushed from time to time, depending on the load of sand in the water. On batteries that include manual filters, the filters should be manually cleaned, any time when the filters are loaded with solid impurities. This situation can be determined when the pressure gauge shows a large difference of pressure between the inlet and outlet of the battery.
Each Sand Separator and filter are isolated from the battery with 3 manual valves, which may be closed during the manual filter cleaning, eliminating the need to stop the work of the battery and the supply of filtered water.
