The International Desalination Association is committed to the development and promotion of the appropriate use of desalination and desalination technology worldwide. We endeavour to carry out these goals by encouraging research and development, exchanging and promoting communication, and disseminating information. The IDA publishes periodicals and related information on desalination and the water reuse industry. We hold regularly scheduled desalination congresses every two years with an accompanying exhibition. IDA also sponsors several specialized seminars and workshops in different regions of the world during the year. We work together with our regional and association affiliates to coordinate activities that are of benefit to our members.
IDA is a non profit association of over 1,000 members in 58 countries. The membership comprises of scientists, end-users, engineers, consultants and researchers from governments, corporations and academia. IDA is associated with the UN as part of a growing international network of non-governmental organizations.
