Interim Minister for Transport Timoci Natuva is assuring consumers of a reliable water supply after the commissioning of the new water pump at Waimanu yesterday.
Natuva highlighted that the new water pumps would ensure reliable raw water supply to the Tamavua Treatment Plant adding these pumps would act as contingency whenever the water levels at the Savura pumping station become low.
The new water pump is anticipated to improve supply to the densely populated areas of Central Suva, Veisari, Lami, Parts of Walu Bay and other high areas in the Central Division who rely on the Tamavua Treatment Plant for their water supply.
The commissioning of the new Waimanu water pump station was accomplished through funding from the Asian Development Bank at a cost of $20m. |
