Canadian engineering firm, MPC Consulting, setting a high standard for innovative design and build electrical control and SCADA systems for small urbanized closed loop waste water treatment plants.
MPC Consulting, Vancouver Island’s leading supplier of electrical control systems is pleased to announce the unveiling of their latest Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) electrical control and SCADA system.
Located in the Dockside Green development in Victoria BC, MPC was a key member of an expert team of consulting engineers assembled to design and build Victoria’s first closed loop wastewater treatment plant. What makes this development unique is the commitment to achieving LEED® Platinum Certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). This is the highest level that can be achieved under the CaGBC LEED® program. The incorporation of the WWTP contributed points (Innovative Wastewater Technology) to the LEED® Platinum designation awarded to Synergy, the first phase of residential buildings at Dockside Green, and will contribute equally to future phases.
In association with Busby Perkins & Will, Morrison Hershfield, Farmer Construction, Stantec, Read Jones Christoffersen, WorleyParsons, Komex, RCL Consulting and Corix, MPC was tasked to design and build the controls, instrumentation and SCADA systems (Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition). Work was completed this past summer and the plant is currently in operation mode.
“MPC was honored to be a part of such a distinguished group of companies who had the opportunity to work on a high profile project like the Dockside Green Wastewater Treatment Plant.” says Paul Bulmer, President of MPC. “There were a number of challenges with this project but the end result is a facility that is the envy of the world in terms of next generation environmental sustainability. Indeed this is a project that Victoria and the rest of Canada can to be proud of.” |
