Editorial

Water shortages and droughts in the past years have served as a wake up call to governments, and conservation is being seriously pursued across the globe. Several US States have realized the need to manage their existing potable water reserves, in the face of population growth and climatic changes due to global warming.

 

In order to manage the effects of climate change on California's hydrology and water delivery systems, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger proposed a $4.5 billion bond to build a comprehensive system for the storage and conveyance of water throughout the state.
