Micro Drainage was founded in Newbury in 1983 and developed the first drainage design suite for the PC.

Micro Drainage is the only drainage engineering software developer certified to EN BS ISO 9001 and TickIt standards. Our fast-growing customer base now uses over 10,000 Micro Drainage Software modules. Currently, our software is used by over 90 per cent of the UK`s top sewerage consultants as defined by the New Civil Engineer Consultants File, and all water utility companies. WinDes

Designed by engineers for engineers, WinDes uses proven and universally adopted methodologies to design and analyse drainage systems, including a powerful flow simulation module, and a comprehensive costing and quantities package.

With the 3D modelling capabilities of the APT module, you can apply triangulation and contouring to your model. You can also bring in data from the GIS Database, enabling surface modelling and the incorporation of features such as the water table, or rock surfaces.

As a modular suite, WinDes enables you to select the elements most suited to your immediate requirements, with the flexibility to introduce additional modules as they are needed. At the same time, the full integration of the modules means that you can produce a complete drainage system, incorporating pipes, open channels, attenuation and SUDS, in one model.

Micro Drainage designs and develops drainage design suite for the PC. WinDes, is the industry-standard drainage design suite in the UK, while WinDap is the first drainage area planning suite to incorporate full analysis and design of Combined Sewer Overflows.

The latest versions of the software also include facilities for design, modeling and analysis of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS). With highly intuitive interfaces, the programs make full use of 3D graphics, enhancing productivity and enabling quicker and easier analysis.

Micro Drainage Training

Micro Drainage offers complete programmes of training on both WinDes and WinDap. Courses can be conducted at our own training suite in Newbury, at your own premises, or at a site near you. The training programmes are highly practical and include extensive hands-on work with live examples.

Training on Micro Drainage software ranges in scope from simple drainage design through to complex SUDS and hydrological studies. You can therefore gain far more than knowledge of the software, getting to grips with some of the most important industry issues of the day.

Micro Drainage training forms part of our ISO 9001 certification and is therefore governed by the same commitment to quality assurance as the development of the software itself. On successful completion of each course, all candidates are awarded a certificate towards Continuous Professional Development.

Micro Drainage workshops are held regularly throughout the year to keep you up to date with the latest developments, both within the software and the industry at large. We`ll take you through the latest features and functions of the software, with particular emphasis on its relevance to new EU and UK legislation and industry best practice.
