Mr. Hargis' career has been dedicated to the innovation, design, development and implementation of GIS, automated mapping and facilities management technologies for more than 200 utility companies and local governments. Jim founded Hargis LLC to apply the newest mobile and handheld technologies to automate field force operations for utilities and local governments.

Mr. Hargis holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Rice University, and an MBA from University of Denver. He served as first Treasurer of AM/FM International (now GITA), and has contributed dozens of papers, presentations and seminars. The book, "Pioneers of GIS", Chapter 7 profiles his contributions. Professional interests and memberships include GITA, URISA, Rocky Mountain Electric League, GIS in the Rockies, computational geometry, IEEE Computer Graphics.
