- Positive Displacement Blower: Used in smaller water treatment plants, where the demand for free air is less than80 m3 per minute and where there is a requirement for a high discharge pressure. These blowers are used for such water treatment plants that anticipate wide variations in water levels. Unlike centrifugal blowers however, it is quite necessary that variable speed drives be used to provide control over the processes. Another possible way to ensure control is to put together a combination of positive displacement blowers in succession.
